Community Open Day

On Saturday 15 May, on a lovely summer’s day, the RGS opened up the Old Building to the public. There were guided tours of Big School (one of the original classrooms) and the famous Chained Library, which is one of very few left in the country. We welcomed over 200 people through the doors during the afternoon.

Cream Teas were enjoyed in School Room (another of the original classrooms) where the visitors relaxed to the sound of RGS musicians. Due to the lovely weather some of the visitors ventured outside onto the Headmaster's lawn to enjoy the sunshine and soak up the atmosphere of the Old Building.
