Squadron Leader EKD Bush and Cadets James Badman and Cameron Hay took part in the ceremonies in Normandy to celebrate the 65th anniversary of D Day, as part of the official 500 strong Cadet Camp. Cadets took part in the services of remembrance at Bayeux Cemetery and Cathedral, at Ranville Cemetery near Pegasus Bridge and the service of remembrance in Arromanches square. The cadets lined route to the memorial at Bayeux, and met Prince Charles and Chief of Staff Sir Jock Stirrup. The cadets marched into Arromanches square behind the Normandy Veterans and took part in the remembrance service, and listened to the speeches of Gordon Brown and General Sir Richard Dannatt. Veterans, officers and cadets then had the chance to mingle with the visiting Heads of State and Senior Officers. The whole of event was a great experience for the cadets, and it was moving and humbling to talk to the veterans who took part in D-Day itself 65 year ago.
